Forgive Me My Sins Private Screening

Ok, so I had a cast and crew screening of my short at the Everyman Cinema today. I couldn’t sleep for the past week because I was so nervous but it turned out to be so lovely! It was very relaxed and informal with lots of friends…good company in general…then it was drinks at the Horseshoe afterwards. Another screening will be arranged soon strictly for investors, I’m not sure where yet…I’ll have a ponder.

My next project is going well, I’ve written the first draft. The film is about 5 minutes in length but it’s highly stylized so there’s a need for a bit of set construction, costume, production design etc. I need an investor…I hate scrimping.

I saw ‘Once’ yesterday for the first time…it really didn’t capture me so I’ve left it until now but I loved it!! Such a poignant, beautiful little film. It’ so far removed from anything that I’d even think about doing, it’s almost a Dogma film with it’s naturalistic lighting and handheld camera…it just goes to show the importance of a great story even if it’s small and intimate…it can compete with the whipcracking Indi-I’mma-bit-confused-whether-this-is-close-encounter-of-the-third-kinda-Jones.
