Wall-E Review

Ok, I am a Pixar fan but Wall-E just didn’t compel me to see it, I wanted to but it wasn’t on my priority list. My mum actually took me today and my conclusion is just astounded wonder! Pixar just keep getting better, I loved Nemo, double loved Ratatouille and Wall-E just blew any animated film thus far out of the water (Oookay, let’s not get into the stop-motion field, that’s different!). It was visually beautiful, emotionally touching (Yes, two dancing robots in space with a fire extinguisher gets me every time). I guess what I liked about it was there was so little speech yet somehow, you just didn’t need it and that really is a tribute to the insanely talented animators whose penchant for abject perfectionism for subtle mannerisms is what makes Pixar the pinnacle of animation production. In every film we see the studio pushing itself to conquer the elements, I think they should go the rainforest route next, we need a new Fern Gully!!

The also notoriously ace short films that precede Pixar’s creations was also a testament to their desire to outdo themselves. This time around the short was ‘Presto’ and it surrounds the human magician and his fantastic, right hand rabbit who just steals the limelight! One observation of Pixar is their subtle bashing of human kind and their inferiority compared to animals and in the more recent case of Wall-E, technology. I think I agree.
