Tim Burton love fest

Ok I didn’t manage to get the scans up and it’ll have to wait until after Thursday now, but I will post them next week.

I saw Sweeney Todd again when I visited my parents in Kent and I loved it even more! This is maybe controversial but as a Burton affeciando, I think its perfectly acceptable to say that I think Sweeney is Tim Burton’s best work to date. Yes, I love Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, Beeteljuice, Nightmare and Vincent…but Sweeney seems more sophisticated; haunting and poetic but more than that, beautifully tragic! (My favourite genre). Helena Bonham-Carter was just dazzling as Mrs. Lovett and Johnny Depp regained my admiration after I feel, so many of the same mass produced characterizations.

I watched Ed Wood on the 2 hour journey back from Kent on my MacBook Pro *hugs Apple* (not the fruit). Much love to SJP and Bela Lugosi for stand out performances. The film really has a comfy, old Hollywood feel to that just makes me snuggly.

…on another note, slightly worried that Cher Vegas tickets go on sale tomorrow…I’ve heard rumours it’s the week after the US Superbowl which is today. If you know me…within a day, maybe two, you’ll soon realize I’m a Cher fanatic and I’ve never seen her perform live. I’ll die much happier if I can do that. Anyway…I’m slightly apprehensive about getting good seats seeing as the casino’s usually save them for the high rollers…

Anyway, I’m off to watch The Weatherman…
